TechSkills’ Medical Billing and Coding Associate program builds the skills you need to get a fast start on a rewarding career in this in-demand profession. No hospital or doctor's office can function without proper Medical Billing and Coding. Medical Coding specialists assign diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records based on medical documentation and review the records for quality assurance, government compliance, and correct and timely reimbursement. Electronic health record initiatives increase the demand for positions in this field.
Healthcare providers depend on Medical Coders for proper diagnostic and procedure code assignment; chargemaster support for revenue codes, charges, and procedure codes with modifiers; and documentation improvement to support maximum quality patient care, compliance, and financial profitability. Accurate code assignment allows the provider to remain compliant and optimize reimbursement.
Upon completion of the program graduates are qualified to take a computerized certification exam with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Upon passing the AHIMA certification, our graduates will hold the title of Certified Coding Associate (CCA).
TechSkills has a flexible learning model which allows students to attend 12 to 24 hours per week and progress on an individual basis.
